For many years I taught at the Philipps-University Marburg, and I enjoyed it a lot. Every summer semester I guided medical students through the neuroanatomy of the eye and the visual pathways, together with the diseases that affect them. I also taught students of human biology and neurobiology. Teaching, to me, thrives best through engaging conversations, and the Marburg students gave me plenty of them. Thank you for that.
From 2027 I will teach at the Medical Faculty of Leipzig University. Which courses exactly is still open.

THE COMPLEMENT SYSTEM DESCRIBED IN AN EASY WAY
The complement system is part of the innate immune system of our body. With over 50 proteins involved in the cascade it is a challenge to fully understand how pathogens are elimanted by it. This video visualizes the proteolytic cascade and explains its functions in the human body:
PATHOGENESIS IN AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION

UNDERSTANDING COMPLEMENT INHIBITORS
The recent approval of Syfovre as a treatment in age related macular degeneration highlights the importance of complement-based drugs.
